Long-time blogger, Elizabeth Robertson Williams, granddaughter of Pat Robertson, had been writing on blending faith, life and a touch of the unexpected for years, and had inspired many young women along the way. She came to us with goals to grow her online presence, solidify her brand, and to utilize the growth to attract a publisher to publish her book, The Roaring 20s. The Roaring 20s is a survival manual to help 20-something readers successfully make it through those years and be reminded that though much is in flux, they are not alone.
She wanted her website to feel almost like her living room, a clean (yet not too clean!), warm place to sit down and have a glass of wine or coffee with her and chat. The handdrawn lines and handwriting text make the site feel personable, the slab serif paired with the sans serif feels cozy, yet clean, and the framed blog post photos immediately make the homepage feel… well, homey, acting almost like framed pictures hanging on a wall. Her most popular posts, and the ones most fun for Elizabeth to write, were her ‘Friday Favorites,’ so we featured those prominently in the coral color on the homepage.
